Enjoying one of my primary pasttimes on the mighty Missouri River. Pictured is a blue catfish of ~12 pounds.

I am a graduate student in the Molecular Biophysics program at Washington University in St. Louis. My thesis project involves a collaboration between Dr. Nathan Baker and Dr. Peter Chivers. The focus of my work is a combination of computational modeling and experimental characterization of the nickel-responsive prokaryotic transcription regulatory protein NikR.

The NikR protein is a tetramer that binds to DNA in the presence of Ni(II).
